What is the song about? It is a relationship song, but not in the traditional (I’m lonely, missing you, want you back, trying to get over you) theme that so many relationship songs use. I guess a lot of folks, whether you’re a man or a woman have that special someone in their past where they can look to them and honestly say, “there’s just not enough whiskey here to drink, to convince me to sit and listen to one more night of you telling my how wrong I am!” Not only is there not enough whiskey, but "there’s not enough money down in the bank to give your lovin’ one more try!” And of course what is a good country song if you don’t talk about driving your pick-up truck and running out of gas? So, in the last verse I had to talk about that and of course my beloved dog that she hated! The words are “There’s not enough gas left in my truck, to turn around and bring you with me… so I’ll head on down the road, me and that dog you say you hate, and my favorite radio! The poor dog, well of course she hated the dog! It was my dog! Enjoy!

Hello, my name is Doug Adkins . I am a traditional country music singer-songwriter from Montana / USA.  My father was an educator so I grew up in little towns like Culbertson, Wolf Point, Froid and finally graduated from Sidney High School, which is in the North East corner of the state...
